Sue Mue’s Ode to Motherhood in All Its Graceful Forms
At Sue Mue, every thread we weave tells a story — of heritage, devotion, and a quiet strength passed down from one generation to the next. This Mother’s Day, we chose to pause and reflect on the essence of motherhood — not merely as a role, but as a spirit that takes many forms and resides in every act of care.
From a mother dressing her daughter on her wedding day to the subtle, nurturing moments shared with a beloved pet — we witnessed the beauty of motherhood in all its dimensions. It was a celebration of connection, of generational grace, and of enduring love.
A Family’s Couture Chronicle: The Mehra Wedding Story

The Mehra women with Mohita Gujral — a moment of shared grace, legacy, and timeless elegance.
For this year’s tribute, we had the honor of capturing an intimate portrait of Namita Mehra and her daughters, adorned in Sue Mue couture — a visual homage to strength and elegance handed down across time.
What made this story even more special is the deep-rooted relationship between Namita Mehra and Sue Mue — one that spans over four decades. Namita has known the brand since the days it was helmed by Ms. Narinder Mohan, our founder’s mother. Over the years, that association has grown into a genuine friendship — a generational bond built on trust, shared values, and timeless style.
When it came time for her daughter Jivika’s wedding, Namita turned to us with the same trust that’s been nurtured for over 40 years. From the bridal lehengas to the mother-of-the-bride ensemble, every piece was created with intention — blending craftsmanship with sentiment to reflect the elegance and individuality of each wearer.
Namita’s bespoke outfit, crafted especially for her daughter’s wedding festivities, epitomized the ethos behind every Sue Mue creation — a garment that holds memory, meaning, and a sense of belonging. Her daughters, poised in coordinated couture, echoed her grace, creating a visual symphony of familial legacy wrapped in hand-finished finesse.
In one quiet moment during the final fitting, Namita gently adjusted Jivika’s dupatta and paused, taking in the sight of her daughter stepping into a new chapter. It was in that silence — tender, proud, and profound — that the true essence of motherhood was felt. Because motherhood isn’t just about raising someone — it’s about raising values, traditions, and quiet dignity.

Weddings are milestones where these emotions find their most vivid expression. They’re more than celebrations — they’re heritage passed from hand to hand, soul to soul, and in our world — from seam to seam.

At Sue Mue, we consider it a privilege to be part of such meaningful moments in our clients’ lives. Our design philosophy is rooted in personalization and timelessness, ensuring every garment speaks to the wearer’s individuality while honouring tradition.
What makes this story even more special is that Sakshi Mehra, Namita’s elder daughter, is now part of the Sue Mue team. Though she joined us shortly before the wedding, her presence added a beautiful layer of connection to a relationship that’s already spanned generations. A bond that began decades ago has now grown into something even deeper — and we’re honoured to carry it forward.
The Mehra portrait captures this very ethos. In their silken drapes and intricately hand-embroidered details lies a narrative far deeper than fashion — one of womanhood, legacy, and love. It’s this emotional resonance that transforms our creations into family treasures, and our name into one that lives in the hearts — and wardrobes — of our patrons.
As we celebrate this timeless bond between a mother and her daughters, we honour a larger truth: weddings are not just about two people. They’re about generations. And at Sue Mue, we’re humbled to dress them all.
Motherhood, With Fur and a Heartbeat
At Sue Mue, we believe that motherhood isn’t defined by biology alone — it’s defined by love, care, and the quiet acts of devotion that happen every single day.
Whether it’s nurturing a child, a sibling, a dream, or a little furball who’s claimed your heart, the essence remains the same.
This year, in honour of Mother’s Day, we turned the spotlight inward — inviting our own team to share the stories of the companions they lovingly mother. And what unfolded was nothing short of heartwarming: a celebration of dog moms, cat moms, and every gentle soul who’s ever found home in the eyes of an animal.

One story that particularly moved us was that of Mahima Gujral Wadhwa and her faithful companion, Amigo. A bond built on cuddles, long walks, stolen snacks, and wordless understanding — Mahima and Amigo reminded us that motherhood comes in many forms. Sometimes, it has fur, a wagging tail, or the softest purr.
These weren’t just portraits. They were love letters in still frames — of comfort found in furry shoulders, healing in happy licks, and trust built without a single word. They were proof that care isn’t always loud; sometimes, it simply curls up next to you and sighs in contentment.
To be a pet mom is to:
- Wake up to excited paws before the alarm clock rings
- Memorize every twitch of the tail and every bark that means “treat”
- speak in silly voices you’d never use otherwis
- Worry during thunderstorms, vet visits, and nights they won’t eat
- Love fiercely, unconditionally, and with your whole heart
Because when you choose to love an animal, you sign up for a motherhood that is just as real, just as raw — and infinitely rewarding.
Not all mothers carry diaper bags. Some carry treats, tennis balls, and lint rollers — and their love is just as boundless.
This Mother’s Day, Sue Mue turned the lens toward a different kind of nurturer — the ones who pour their hearts into raising not just children, but pets too. The kind who understand affection without words, and comfort through a quiet presence.

As our studio welcomed a few furry guests for a special shoot, the atmosphere changed. It wasn’t just playful barks and soft purrs — it was love in its purest form. A kind of companionship that needs no language, just a look, a tail wag, a nuzzle.
In those unscripted moments, we were reminded: motherhood is not defined by biology alone — it’s defined by care. It’s about showing up, day after day, and giving selflessly. Whether it’s a paw resting on your lap or tiny eyes looking up at you for comfort, the bond is deep, real, and beautiful.
At Sue Mue, we honour all forms of motherhood — the traditional, the chosen, and the unexpected. Because to mother is to nurture. And whether that love is directed toward a child, a pet, or even a plant — it deserves to be seen and celebrated.
Here’s to the women who mother in every form — with patience, instinct, and a heart full of grace.
These weren’t just animals; they were family. Each bond was unique, each story heartfelt. From shy first meetings to years of unwavering companionship, our team’s furry friends reminded us that love, in its truest form, often walks on four legs.
Because at Sue Mue, everything our team cherishes becomes a part of our story too. Every pet, every cuddle, every paw print left behind — it’s all special to us.

Our Origins: A Brand Born from a Mother's Dream

Sue Mue’s story began, as many timeless legacies do — with a mother.
A woman with a vision that went beyond the tangible — who believed that clothing could embody emotion. That a sari could carry history, a dupatta could cradle a blessing, and a stitch could seal generations of love.
From her hands and her dreams, Sue Mue was born. Today, that same ethos continues to lead us — guiding every silhouette we sketch, every motif we embroider, and every bride we dress
“In every home, it is the mother who holds everything together — through brighter days and darker ones, she is the constant, the quiet compass,” says Mohita Gujral, the guiding force of Sue Mue. Her words capture the heart of everything we create — pieces stitched with intention, wrapped in legacy, and designed to carry the wearer through life’s most intimate milestones. This is not fast fashion. This is slow, sacred, ceremonial couture — conceived in reverence to the generations that have loved before us.
A Quiet Force: Soft Yet Unbreakable
Motherhood isn’t always loud — it doesn’t ask for applause. It’s the quiet force that rises early, carries the day with poised calm, and anchors a world with soft yet unbreakable strength. Last week, as we marked Mother’s Day, we didn’t just dress women in our finest silks — we dressed them in recognition, in honour, and in deep gratitude. From heritage embroideries to hand-stitched borders, every Sue Mue ensemble is designed to hold memory — not just for the moment, but for lifetimes to come. Whether she’s leading from the front or nurturing from behind the scenes, the mother is always our muse.
This year, we opened our archives and hearts to celebrate the women who shape our stories — mothers of children, of pets, of dreams. Our garments, like lullabies and letters, are meant to be remembered — wrapped in couture, rooted in culture, and crafted with reverence. And as a mother and the founder of Sue Mue, I see motherhood not just as a role, but as a quiet leadership — defined not by biology or circumstance, but by intention, empathy, and grace. It’s that spirit we strive to weave into every design, so every wearer feels held, seen, and celebrated. From our family to yours, thank you for letting us be part of your journey.
“With every piece we create, we honour her — the quiet strength, the enduring love, and the timeless grace of a mother.”
