Albeli Pret Spring Summer 2017

Our latest collection Albeli is inspired by the glory of Awadh, a region in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh and a small part of Nepal that was renowned for its poetry, dance, art and music. Inspired by its free-spirited queens, the collection is an ode to the beauty and pride of the modern Indian woman who defies social restraints and lives life with power, purpose and poise.

Named Albeli, which means ‘a unique, beautiful woman’, our Spring-Summer 2017 collection celebrates lightness and freedom with the pattern of birds and floral motifs. Rich embroideries like chikankari , zardozi, aari  and colourful thread work on fabrics such as handloom cotton and fine muslin conjure the grace of the era. The pastel colour scheme is soothing to summer’s gaze, and the silhouettes keep traditional values alive, while renewing them with a contemporary touch. The lehenga, gharara and Farsi sharara paired with short tops and long kalidar kurtas capture the season’s exuberance with layers and volume.
